From All Access: Nate Bell Out at iHeart Media/Detroit

Post by Trophyhead » Fri Mar 15, 2019 12:57 pm

Got this via email this morning. Being distant from the market and not likely categorized as a "P1" for WJLB and WMXD, I Googled him up to find that Bell joined the Detroit cluster just over a year ago.

Is this more than a tree falling in the corporate forest?

Are you implying some type of change at WMXD and WJLB or what?

Turnover has always been high in the programming ranks at WMXD and WJLB, for whatever reason.

It's 4x as bad at the Urban One stations.

I recognize the name but have no idea which station he was at.

Mix 92.3?

He was the station’s Operations Manager and Program Director. I had no idea at the time that I posted whether that included on-air duties, voice-tracking, whatever.

So, the new guy (Bill Black) arrives and within his first thirty days fucks with 106.7 HD2 by flipping it to a format that damn near mirrors what's already available on 97.9 WJLB. Never mind the fact NO ONE with an HD radio tuning to 106.7 MHz is looking for hip-hop music!!!

The audio processing on Mix 92.3 has turned to absolute crud within the past few days. It sounds every bit as bad as 99.9 MHz now.
