How lame the news has become

Post by lovinlife101 » Fri Oct 04, 2019 8:01 am

Is it just me or is the only function of the news today being the aggregator (look it up) of information like what “national _____ day” it is or who’s giving out free stuff?

(Salesperson voice) “Thaaaaaaaat’s right, Jimmy! You get a fresh, delicious, hot n ready pizza from Little Caesars today because a lower ranked NCAA basketball team beat a higher ranked team! Get your pizza at participating locations from noon until 4pm! Oh, and while you’re there, why not purchase many of Little Caesars’ other confectionary delights like break sticks, and more expensive pizza!”

Seriously, news people are just shills for these companies’ PR campaigns.

“Oh, but it’s free pancake day! Get a hot, fresh, delicious short stack of pancakes from IHOP today only! 10am to 7pm. Oh, and purchase stock too as a ‘thank you!’”

“Hey, personality-void co-anchor, it’s National Name Your Car day! What are you going to name your car?”

“I take the bus because I work in news.”

“That’s great! On to weather now, oh wait, you do that too!!!”

Top news story on Channel 7 6pm newscast was a kindergartner in Lincoln Park schools that has broke both his arms, on two separate occasions, on the playground. Channel 7 was implying negligence and possible bullying on part of the schools and of course the mother was on there saying she's probably going to sue and pull the kid out and send him to another school. Surely their is another side to the story but they certainly portrayed the school in a bad light. Lame story of the day!!
Wow. The news just wants anything that’s a potential rage multiplier. Don’t let facts or the other side get in the way of a good story!

Radio has been a lost cause for a long time. Last week the topic of the day was asking callers (just the radio sales department pretending to be listeners) what food you hate to get stuck in your teeth.
