Thanks CC. I am now aware that listening to WCWA is just like being inside a pro team's locker room.

Then again, I suppose it's less annoying than listening to Brik Pardo drag his knuckles across my speakers and talk about how he wants to "understaaand yer business."

I Heart Radio = the ultimate exercise in mediocrity.

Just what I need....500 streams of George Noory.

That's one station with an identity crisis. Is it a sports station? An AM jazz spot? A station where anyone with two nickels to rub together can buy airtime, as long as it doesn't conflict with a Mudhens game?

More amazing is that WCKY almost beat WWWM (12+ M-S). Only 0.3 shares between them.

WCWA's airtime is damn expensive for a 1KW stick at 6am - don't know what they rip you so bad, but hey, that's how they make money; brokering on the weekends. More that '2 nickels' - trust me, as one who tried to buy time.

I asked the same question recently, and if memory serves, it was around $250-$300 an hour. I was shocked.

Yep, you try and sell $900 in spots that early in the morning - and then you can't even break even, yet alone pay yourself a hundred bucks for all your work. So my 3 hour show is down the shitter on the Seaway stick.

And for roughly the same around, you can get a spot on WDTK in Detroit. 1,000 watt peashooter, yet a (potential) large audience.

WPON in Southfield is I believe only $100 an hour, but you have to get your show out via word of mouth. I almost went that route, but I found I'm not the best salesperson when it comes to advertising.
