Just came from Toledo for the weekend. Signal's not bad for being so weak. Of course, the centralized location in the city helps. I drove into town at 1am Friday night and I could pick up 100.9 just a mile north of Bowling Green! Throughout the city there was still a small amount of static. But the signal in the city itself is actually better than 106.5's.

Wonder how big an impact their proposed power increase from 82 to 99 watts will have. Right now, lots of static in Sylvania and impossible to get in Berkey.

I have better luck with their WXKR HD-2 signal, which technically is 300 watts; they would be prime for the 10% IBOC signal, as 3KW digital would more power than the other rim shots analog!
I still haven't heard an 'official FCC-approved' TOH station ID that lists their numeric callsign in addition to WXKR-HD2 ( Port Clinton ).

I heard an ID for W265CB it seemed every fourth hour at 9, 1 and 5 starting around May 6. Haven't heard/payed attention to it for a week or two. Of course I never heard an ID for W264AK. Always just heard "KAWZ Twin Falls."

Actually heard the W265CB Toledo ID today at noon but not at 1. Don't know how often translators are supposed to id themselves.

Translators can ID with FSK and you can't hear it...

I was passing through Toledo earlier in the week and heard both ID's run together at the top of the hour.

Also caught a sales promo by a guy named Brik Pardo. Googled him and found this quote:

"Recently I have been working with a company by the name of
Cumulus Broadcasting. One of the best run companies I have seen in a while. What separates this company apart from the rest is its vision for what needs to be done. These visions included CRM software to make the executives better, Mr. Dickey's ability to see the future needs of what Radio needs is by far more impressive than most people in this industry have shown me so far. This part of my career now provides me the tools to lead a sales team far beyond the opportuntiy for success but more importantly I now have the tools to give them that will set them apart."

Best run company??? :rollin He must have been hit on the head by a brick!!!

If Mr. Dickey has his Dad's brains, he can SEE what radio needs, but that doesn't mean that they'll spend 5 cents to actually DO what radio needs.
Their hardware in Toledo is such a POS (other than 100.9) - they need to act fast, or there will be no more 1470 The Ticket, but 4 rusty towers on the ground, or running 50 watts without a ground system. I still can't believe that they were able to give away 1560 - worst trade since the American Indians got $24 for Manhattan.

Am I reading this wrong or might we be calling it 100.7 the zone in the near future? Also, the proposed power increase to 99 watts is no longer mentioned on this page.

Good question Mr. 80's fan; I don't know why they don't stick with 100.9 FM as my kids already have the preset 'set' on the car radio for it? I heard no station on 100.9 prior to it's use, and 100.7 has the Canadian pee-wee station.

Either way, same 82 watts; can't add anymore power as they can't go outside the WXKR "circle of trust". They also have to remain a translator stastion as a rebroadcast of another station (WXKR-HD2), so I doubt they'll get some 'real' call letters.

They can't win either way. On 100.7 there's interference from that Windsor station and WITL Lansing while on 100.9 there's WBNO Bryan and WMJK Clyde. WBNO totally overtook W265CB's signal late Friday night here in Sylvania.

100.7 is a slightly better choice, because the interference from Windsor is minimal, and WRIF is unharmed.

100.9 is a mess for the reasons you stated.

Was listening to them for awhile this morning and they announced they will indeed be going to 100.7 in the near future.

Good move, they've made WRIF unlistenable in pretty much the whole city of Toledo.

Much better use of 100.7 than the previous occupants W264AK, (AKA CSN International/KAWZ.)

Yeah I was listening to them online and I heard an official aircheck saying they were gonna move to 100.7 "very soon".
