Another ALT gone
iHeart blew up ALT 103.9 Dayton on Thanksgiving Eve for Christmas music. 106.5 WRZX, which was donated to a Christian broadcaster earlier this year, had been iHeart's Christmas station for the Dayton market. Wouldn't be surprised if the "BIG" classic hits brand shows up at 103.9 after Christmas.

Re: Another ALT gone
This has to be up there with some of the dumbest programming choices ever made. Hey, Audacy, why not create a "psychedelic" station and only play disco! Or create a heavy metal station and only play Debby Boone! Jesus, if the song choices were better it might have a chance. No, just keep spinning shitty Tik Tok and pop music and maybe you can fuck it up worse.

Haha… Of course this happens the weekend I’m in Toledo.
I’ll be driving back Sunday evening, 103.9’s signal becomes available just before Sidney.
Had a feeling something was up Mix 107.7 has been playing more new music recently. Plus at the moment Dayton doesn’t have a Christmas music station.
92.9 Jack FM needs to go, it’s not 92.1 or 102.9 Alpha doesn’t give a rat’s ass.

Annnnd it’s Country as 103.9 The Bull.
Not a bad move, but I was thinking Big would’ve been the one to get resurrected.

Re: Another ALT gone
Definitely will have to say I was sidetracked by this one, thought for sure this station was going to become BIG 103.9 after how well rimshot 60’s/70’s Classic Hits BIG 106.5 did in the Dayton market.
The wife will be happy.

Agreed 1000%, 2.0 for a 40 kw signal is truly pathetic.

Whoopee, more autotuned rap trap crap masquerading as country.
At least that market does have a couple of options for classic country.

92.9 is a satellite-fed computer in a closet; personally I think that's the worst way to run a Jack-FM style station. Jacks do much better when effort is put into them (look no further than Audacy's Jack in LA), but Alpha doesn't seem to give a rat's ass about it.MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Mon Dec 27, 2021 11:45 am If Alpha doesn't flip 92.9 to classic hits, they're stupid.
Great opportunity for Eagle 95.3 / 101.1 to gain additional audience share.
take this job and shove it
Re: Another ALT gone
This is the 2nd time for The Bull in Dayton, The first bull was on 106.5 for about 11 months back in the early 2010's. Then Country resurfaced on 94.5, then 94.5 was sold and flipped to talk. This station will fail too, I mean 101.5 Hank FM is barley cracking a 2 share as it is.
