WTOL spot jingle and branding quality

A place to go for those of you who wish to discuss happenings in OH, IN, IL, WI, and Ontario. OSU sucks, by the way.

WTOL spot jingle and branding quality

Post by TeddyBear » Sun Nov 26, 2017 3:47 am

Who is making the really bad jingles on allot of spots that are airing on WTOL? The branding is also just as bad.

You mean like the stupid generic "Get up Toledo!" jingle in mornings? Agree that that one sucks.

Overall, that station has really slipped quality wise the past few years. WTVG has clearly passed them as the #1 news operation in Toledo, not that 13 is perfect but still.

I am talking about actual spots, sung locally. "Toledo Water Conditioning, you'll find its perfect." Remember, the branding is very weak, per my example. If you can stand their news, you will see more examples, including a rap in a piping industry spot.

I do agree on the "Wake up Toledo" jingle too. Very bad. Copies Lyn Casey's events segment on Star.

What happened to the weekend anchor that used to be on WTOL? They traded her in for an older model?

Can I ask if she made those jingles? "The Piping Industry, we got work to do." What a joke! Terrible branding.

Really? She was not THAT good. Maybe Channel 23 started a newscast. .

Funny how this is off topic.

My, how the mighty have fallen since they lost CBS. I guess CBS 4 must be getting better people over 8. Their standards really musta dropped way low, for a market their size.

I know you're disappointed since you lost your gig working ladies' night at Andrea's on Alexis, but seriously, shut up Zman.
