Just called Cumulus and they're estimating the switch will happen in the next two weeks.

Its the same Neal Boortz show as they aired Yesterday. Looks to be there getting ready to wind down.

Don't know anything official but my guess is something will happen over this long holiday weekend. WTOD's brokered Saturday show called "A Firm Foundation" announced last Saturday that they'd be on WTOD one more Saturday before transitioning to WLQR-AM 1470.

I'm almost begining to wonder if the Grand plan is to move The Ticket totaly to the FM and make 1470am a place for brokered programing, either way with them postioning themselves soley as "ESPN 106.5 The Ticket" there is less emphisis on 1470.

maybe there will be annoucment on Polka party on Sunday where thats going. 100.7fm is still CSN as of this writing.

They should just dump sports from 1470 now that they're on FM. Isn't worth being on the AM. Better to place brokered and/or some syndicated talk there.

The announced plan is to go total brokered time 6 to 11 Sat and Sun mornings, then return to the sports simulcast. They are calling it Cumulus Community, because Cumulus cares. Uh Huh.

Cumulus Cares, now that's a funny one. Tell that to all the good people laid-off by the Dickey's this past 12 months while they took a bonus.
Cumulus Cares, but not enough to fix a broken beacon on 1470 Tower 4 - but that's okay, wait until LifeFlight smokes it, then maybe they'll finally get a new antenna farm.
Cumulus Cares, but not enough to even both to type-in their call letters for the RDS for 1/2 their stations (even HOT 97-3 can do that), yet alone provide dynamic PAD data for RBDS -or- IBOC PAD info like CC does do for their 3 FM's. One of the few good things I CAN say about CC is that their engineers do know thier stuff and make their equipment run correctly.

1470 is still useful for split play-by-play broadcasts, and there are more conflicts now that they've picked up UM hoops (and I assume football next fall) from 1560.

Otherwise I suppose it doesn't matter, we really don't need to hear that idiot Cowherd on both FM and AM.

Wonder if Cumulus is testing their 100.9 transmitter as I've been getting a weak but open signal of silence on that frequency. In other words, it sounds like the transmitter is on but there's no programming. It appears to be weaker/further away than W264AK on 100.7 from my location in Sylvania Ohio. Usually, the only thing I can vaguely pick up on 100.9 is WBNO in Bryan Ohio which is probably 60 or more miles west. I obviously haven't gotten WBNO at all since it's blocked out by the silent station on 100.9. Anyone else getting anything on 100.9 aside from the usual static?

WXYT dropped almost all mention of 1270 sometime ago. The AM is only good for brokered weekend shows and some play by play, but the Pistons were on WOMC recently instead of the AM.

1470 is probably sticking around because the east side- Oregon, Northwood, etc. has a crappy signal from 106.5.

Is the new 100.9 transmitter causing any problems with WRIF? Their signal was always somewhat decent in northern Toledo. Looks like I'll have to make a drive down that way fairly soon...

No, it's so weak that it really doesn't splash over on RIF or CSN. You are so right about AM 1270 WXYT. Their separate stream in iTunes doesn't even work anymore, so it appears the only way to hear their weekend brokered programs is actually on the radio by tuning to AM 1270. iTunes' stream of WXYT-AM was usually silent except for when the AM was playing something different than the FM. Now the selection is still there but if you click it, you get a link that is as dead as iTunes' Air America link.

Very interesting. Just checked and it's still there playing Jerry Doyl. Sorry kids, no Radio Disney tonight on 1560.
