Has 98.7 boosted their signal?
Has 98.7 boosted their signal?
The title says it all, been getting them clear as a bell almost to Crystal Falls all week.

The bizarro atmospheric conditions are likely responsible for this.
The station has been broadcasting with 52 kW from 176 meters HAAT since late last year.
I see nothing in the FCC database authorizing any modification to the above specs.
I hope the excellent reception you noted continues!

Memo to 106.7: Twenty-One Pilots, Imagine Dragons, FUN and Fall Out Boy all S-U-C-K!!! Stop playing those shitty (boy) bands, and maybe you'll end your streak of piss poor ratings!

So yeah... it went back to its old self for a while there, and then today I was in the woods a few miles south of Amasa... the Lions game (yuck) was on 93.1, so I gave 98.7 a try.
Clear as a bell once again.
Funny thing is that I was down in a river bottom listening to the radio in my old Jeep. I hope this anomaly rears its head during deer season!

I don't hunt in Herman.

So, what are they these days. Several years ago they flipped it from a smooth jazz format to an all bubblegum format, they called Amp. Is it still Amp, or did they give up on that?

We're talking about 98.7 MHz licensed to Hancock in the upper peninsula, not the station currently known as WDZH (98-7 Amp Radio) in Detroit.
And, yes, the Detroit station remains bubble gum music.
