I don’t think that’s an option for Gray and Nexstar — they are pretty much at the 39% FCC cap for station ownership. Tegna has been on the rumor block for a possible sale, so I’m not sure how motivated they are to purchase more stations right now. But I think you’re right that we will continue to see ownship consolidation in the near future.

It is an eye catcher, at least for those who are coming north on the freeway. I have no idea how long it sat idle and in a meager search see that Kysor, who built that edifice was bought up by Borg Warner in '99.

9&10 invited me for a free round of golf at Treetops along with regional EMTs, Sheriff's Dept. officials and the like several years ago, clearly the well is dry when it comes to "Thank You gifts" like that. Got a nice six-pack cooler as part of the event, will have to put on a search for that now.

I was gone for a couple of days and unplugged from the drama at work. I looked at our website and was completely embarrassed by a story we did yesterday. We had only one reporter for the entire day, and we used her to do a story about a restaurant closing in Cadillac. Come on...really? Trying to understand the decisions our newsroom makes.

The Comma has more chemistry and talent with their weekend crew than the morning show....

Some weekends when the news on the Comma or Amphitheater are delayed, I ll notice that they run the exact same national stories.... how does that happen??? If the Comma is independent and the Amphersand is Sinklair..... makes no sense..

Love the newsletter! Everything isn't perfect, but it is real. Various levels of experience and it is great to watch it all come together and stay up to date on the happenings in Northern Michigan.

Honestly, the only things I don't like are the negative attitudes. If you don't like it somewhere you are free to leave at any point or change the channel.

Hell when I was a kid and we went north, anytime the TV turned on and received one channel, it was the 700 club - all day every day.
