WAWM 98.9 Tower Strobe Light?

Unread post by Ben Zonia »

I think I've seen the WAWM Petoskey tower near Boyne Highlands using a strobe light in the late afternoon, but I noticed that it is on after Sunset tonight. Anyone know what the deal is? Some of the strobes use reduced intensity at Night, but this is really bright. It's always been the orange/red marking lights up until this time.

The lights are likely stuck in Day mode, due to failure of the nighttime lights. When this happens, the lights typically default to Day mode.

It was too hazy to see the tower lights last night from my current RL. I might check today if the strobes are on with a telecscope.

It's back to the orange red beacon tonight.

Ok, I obviously missed the call letter change.
