Ha, I was just going to ask about Henderson's stations up there. I drove through the area over the weekend and noted that there isn't a peep from any of the stations aside from 100.1, not even on really low power. 100.1 was just dead air and got out for quite a distance once it was strong enough to overcome WRHN. Later at night when I was driving down M-37, I could hear music on 100.1 right before V100 took it out, literally less than a minute before it was totally gone. I wasn't sure if it was someone else (don't think so), but the signal was already being obliterated so I couldn't hear the ID. Is the station on the air with programming?

WBNZ is now on 92.3. 99.3 was/is WOUF.

Did anybody notice that 101.9 The Bay's website is down? http://1019thebay.com/ Also, their Facebook page hasn't been updated since January. https://www.facebook.com/101.9fmthebay/

Last I heard WLDR, they had no local ads.

So then WBNZ just turned on in the past few days?? It certainly wasn't on this weekend. I haven't heard it in a few years either, aside from knowing it was locally on very low power on and off.

It doesn't say when he has to pay the fine. Expect some kind of an appeal and a settlement for less than the full amount. Have he spent one tenth of the time operating his stations as he did defending his poor management he'd probably be fine.

Will this force him to fix the station and operate as licensed?

Was within 2 miles of their transmitting site yesterday.92.3,99.3 off air;100.1 open carrier.

Not sure if they are still using their building on West Bay.I never see any cars there and their parking lot seemed to always unplowed in the winter. In all fairness I do not drive out that way daily.

On a positive note, they do have a live Saturday morning local DJ named Dave Corey.Sounds very good on air and well polished.

About those Benzie stations, not sure if any commercial operator could make money off of those. All have rimshot signals into TC and Im sure there is not a lot of advertising dollars in that area.

Over the past week, I've gotten mostly WOWN on 99.3 and WRHN on 100.1, with 92.3 being a mix of WBNZ's open carrier, WJMQ, and WJPD (the latter two are both country stations)

Has anybody told Frank Charlie Charlie that WLDR has been running at very low power for over a year, maybe two. I don't see any sta for that operation either. That's why some of the Benzie stations are silent because they robed a 1 KW transmitter to keep WLDR on the air. Seems poor to me.

I think I heard 92.3 relaying 101.9 at some point last year.

The dead air on 92.3 robbed me of one of my best frequencies for E-skip (and I had a decent opening today)

Henderson is a moron. 1000% moron. I'd gladly try my best to run something on those stations if they were mine. Make them local stations again and forget about competing with the 400 signals in TC. If WION can do it with an AM and translator, I fail to understand why Henderson cannot figure it out.

Actually the TC radio operators are happy he runs a lousy operation. Less competition.

101.9 would be the perfect stick for IPR News, if they were to spin off 91.5 to a religious operator.

Update requested on 92.3 here...

I thought I had been hearing it all along here in Fremont on the northwest corner of the house (the direction of WBNZ) but it turns out that some in-home source of interference (or something) was causing that dead air taking out Power because just today, I'm hearing WBNZ with TOH ID with tinny and quiet audio in the null of very strong Power on the other end of the house while the dead air of unknown source is still being heard. So this marks about two years since I've logged WBNZ here. They are on the air with actual audio. Can anyone elaborate on how long this has been going on and if power was boosted? 92.3 was 100% Power 92 in Ludington yesterday (not a great time to compare with the intense lake tropo on the dial, but that far north, if there were some significant change, I'd probably at least hear a peep from it).

On 37 Listening to 92.3 Wbnz and 101.9, 92.3 audio is trash. Audio processing is bad. No bass and scratchy. 101.9 sounds really good but not operating at full power yet but close to its sunny country days.
