WPLJ - now the home of God.
Re: WPLJ - now the home of God.
WOW! God is buying a lot of radio properties today, WPLJ what a heritage. EMF the IHeart Of Christian Radio.
Re: WPLJ - now the home of God.
OMG.... does EMF have a station NYC already, can't remember.
Re: WPLJ - now the home of God.
Thank goodness! It's almost impossible to find religious programming on the radio!
Re: WPLJ - now the home of God.
I understand this deal cost EMF, Or should I say the listeners 103.5 million (in donations mind you) What a deal.
Re: WPLJ - now the home of God.

Equally noteworthy - 94.7 Nash FM in New York is going to Entercom!!
I hope WRQX survives. Will Cumulus blow up WMAL FM to give WRQX a new home? I doubt it, but one never knows. I suspect Cumulus will sell WMAL AM & FM to either iHeart or Hubbard. That station is desirable and profitable.
WABC & tiny WNBM In New York are a different story. Most likely, an ethnic broadcaster would want either or both of those, although I wouldn't rule out Salem as far as WABC goes.
I suspect Cumulus isn't done dealing.

Hmm? I predict country is history on 94.7. WABC is pretty much useless now as a commercial now. I could go way out on a limb here but it wouldn't shock me if EMF makes another buy in Detroit. Another limb, EMF makes another buy in Toledo, sells 1520 at last. Maybe swaps 96.9 for say.. 94.5 or 105.5.

WPLJ was a sister AOR rocker of WRIF at one time and even used the same bumper sticker logo back in the late 70's.
F**K Trudeau and F**K CBC !!!!
Re: WPLJ - now the home of God.
Air 1 is their next project to get in every market that K-Love is in, Chicago has a full power rim shot station doing The Air 1 format I think it’s the 94.3 so that’s their next move in EMF markets.

I forgot iHM already has five stations in DC. We can rule them out as a buyer for 105.9 there.
Depending on the market assignment of 99.1 or 107.9 (not sure if these are considered Baltimore or DC stations in the eyes of the FCC), Entercom could be a buyer.
Will iHM build a CHR / AC / Hot AC wall in Washington by flipping either DC101 or WMZQ? (Unlikely, since most 107.3 listeners will go to their 97.1 anyway if WRQX disappears.)
Will Entercom try to nix its lease agreement with Bloomberg, take back control of 99.1, move WPGC there, and flip 95.5 to Hot AC? Will they simply stand pat but hire Jack Diamond for mornings at 94.7 The Drive?
Washington has relatively few city grade commercial FM signals for being such a large market! They already have a non-comm Christian AC, a Christian Talk station on FM, a Black Gospel station on FM, and now K-Love. Good gravy.
Music FMs with secular formats on full market signals will be limited to 93.9, 94.7, 95.5, 96.3, 97.1, 98.7, 99.5, 100.3, 101.1, and arguably 102.3. Four of those stations target African Americans exclusively.

Re: WPLJ - now the home of God.
The NYC market was never a winning market for the country music format, and I believe Nash FM was no exception in terms of ratings.
