2018 Election Results Thread

Post by Deleted User 8570 » Tue Nov 06, 2018 4:28 pm

I’ll start this thread now before the predictions one gets clogged with well... results.

Here in Michigan we have the following competitive ones:
Governor
Senator
Attorney General
Secretary of State
Props 1/2/3
U.S. House Districts 8 and 11 (Haley Stephens and Elissa Slotkin)

Nationally the races to watch are mainly in the senate:
West Virginia
Tennessee
Florida
Missouri
North Dakota
Montana
Texas
Arizona
Nevada

Also a few governorships:
Ohio
Georgia
Florida
Wisconsin
Nevada
Illinois

If anybody can think of some house races or anything else that might be interesting we can add those to the thread as they are called. Steve King of Iowa is one I see mentioned a lot.

Upton and Walberg have close races but are still favored.

What's more pathetic: harassing an old man who is paying to do a radio show or supporting a grifter like Trump?

I was thinking of including those but couldn’t think of who holds those seats... it’s hard to see both losing... but we should indeed keep an eye on them..

I just wanna say thank you to everyone that came out today to cast a vote. It's easier to be a lazy prick but to those that exercised their right, way to go.

First flip isn’t a surprise:
Jennifer Wexton (D) beats Barbara Comstock (R)... she’s up 17 with 59% in.

Another pickup: Ilehana Ross-Lehtinan (R) retired and Donna Shalala (D) has won her seat in South Florida.

Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) has been re-elected over Bob Hugin... this was one that Republicans claimed was in play late last week...

In Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner (R) has conceded to J.B. Pritzker (D) so that’s 1 governorship that has flipped.

I can't believe the TX Senate race is even that close! I didn't think Beto stood a chance.

Looks like Senate will have a solid Reublican majority, although Cruz is doing surprisingly poorly.

Dem gains in house are underwhelming so far, but it is still very early.

The Democrats will definitely add a decent number of governorships. Fox News has called Michigan for Whitmer. Of note, the Wisconsin race could go either way.

In Michigan, Stabenow is underperforming Whitmer in very early returns. I think the Kavanaugh vote has potentially put that seat in play. The announced USMC trade deal helps the GOP cause, too.

I'm guessing Epstein will lose in a squeaker. I think Bishop and Walberg each win comfortably. Ditto for Upton. I think the Dems will only gain 1 congressional seat here in Michigan.

Prediction: NBC's Chuck Todd is gonna look like a clueless jackass yet again, just like two years ago. He was declaring a big night for the Democrats the instant their broadcast hit the air.

James is really giving Stabenow a run for her money. I had a feeling that would be tight.
