Is it simulcasting? Because there is translator at 107.7 in Manistee

I just happened to catch an ID that mentioned WWMN, but otherwise WMTE seemed normal.
But if you think about it, it dropped the "Coast" format a few months back when the playlist was expanded...

Both easy listening stations in the region (95.5 and is it 97.7?) tossed to the curb less than six months apart.

Interesting.

Too few businesses are interested in purchasing ads on stations mainly listened to by old fogies, I guess.
C'mon iHeartRadio - do the RIGHT thing for once! Please cancel "Rover's Morning Glory" from WBFX in Grand Rapids.

If you are referring to WMLQ (97.7), that was "Coast FM." it was moved to WMTE 101.5 in 2016.

If you are referring to WCHY (97.7) in Cheboygan, that became part of "The Bear" at some point in the last two years...I lost track of the "EZ" format station movement up there...

I'm curious as to why the ID is "106.3 and 101.5" when the operations are at 101.5...Unless it's another one of those "Metro area is first" type of things.

EZ is still on the 106.3 in Onaway/Cheboygan AFAIK. The Traverse City market is so big that it has two 97.7s, two 101.5s, and two 106.3s.

Speaking of The Bear, 98.1 is the only constant. That format has been on so many different sticks it's hard to keep track of.

I remember when all the stations just had the long list of station IDs, before "The Bear" umbrella, including when it was only 105.1 and 98.1, before 107.1 WCKC Cadillac became part of the simulcast ('95 or '96?)

And, interestingly, 98.1 WGFN (not to be confused with 98.1 W251AD Alpena) has stuck with the "Classic Rock" format, when it was the first simulcast of then-Classic Rock WGFM 105.1

After Del put 97.7 on air with the EZ format (Then WQEZ), I lost track of all the station format changes and call letter changes... Wish he would've at least left 105.1 WGFM alone.

And as for two 97.7s, two 106.3s, and two 101.5s... 101.5 WMTE and 97.7 WMLQ are Manistee/Ludington market, not Traverse City.

WQEZ 106.3 Onaway/Cheboygan continues as "Easy 106-3" with translator 98.1 W251AD Alpena .

WQEZ started on 97.7 as "Easy 97-7," in late 2011 if I remember correctly, then moved to 106.3, becoming WOEZ when 95.5 Glen Arbor became WQEZ for a couple of years before going back to rock. When 95.5 dropped Easy, the WQEZ calls moved back north again.

Correct. Still don't understand the continuous movement though. Does get confusing.

Should have just left "The Bear" in it's previous setup...105.1 WGFM and 98.1 WGFN. "The Zone" stations could have become "Real Rock"

Here is who all aired the Bear at some point: 93.9 Mio, 94.5 Mackinaw City, 97.7 Cheboygan, 97.9 Newberry, 98.1 Glen Arbor, 105.1 Cheboygan, 107.1 Cadillac.

Also, Manistee County was very recently placed in the Traverse City market (possibly to appease WTCM and WJZQ, who both do well there)

Didn't know about the market change. Thanks for the info.

Yes, the whole "Bear" lineup was a giant cluster mess the last four or so years. Now comprising of 98.1 (TC) and 97.7 Cheboygan. Problem is, as I see it, the coverage is very little compared to how it used to be. And it's a real shame too.

As for 106.3 Thompsonville/101.5 Manistee...again, is it a metro area thing why with the master control in Manistee that 106.3 Thompsonville/Traverse is listed first? And what is the actual format now? I heard one H*** mix of stuff this morning. And I'm not so certain Elvis was requested this morning.

Yes, that pretty much cover the original "Bear" area.

But it won't happen. UPS is too much of a powerhouse to be transformed into The Bear.

Here is something interesting, just listening to 106.3 on my way from work tonight(Traverse City)heard a number of commercials from the Gaylord area.Thought I was listening to WQEZ.Station ID as Eagle 101.5.What may have happened to cause this?

On a side note-To busy to do a band scan, but tonight seemed like a good DX night as Duke 99.7 and Rewind 97.7 were booming in.
