WJBK graphics package

Post by Deleted User 7620 » Tue Apr 16, 2019 9:18 am

It wasn’t discussed here before, but WJBK upgraded its graphics and music last year. It’s the same as the other Fox O&Os. I like the upgrade. At least Fox spends money on its stations.

They're actually notorious for being really cheap with their stations.

Yet people like Huel and Monica are well taken care of.

That’s about all they spend money on... Huel and Monica run the prompters with their feet...

You can’t starve the hand that feeds you lol.

Besides, the station just upgraded its graphics package and music for its newscasts. They got a new set not that long ago. It can’t be accurate to say Fox doesn’t spend any money on their stations. They are better than most.

Not sure what CBS does, but I heard they were the worst, as far as being cheap.

The group updated their music and graphics for EVERY station to keep everything standardized it’s not just 2 getting new graphics and music... that’s unbelievably and undeniably cheap. It’s far more expensive to do music and graphics for each station individually. Yes new sets happen once in a while... but they don’t spend money hand over fist like it’s 1980... Fox’s newscasts at the local level on their O&O’s always feel third rate...

Most do that now. NBC, CBS, Fox, Scripps, Tenga.

Oh and BTW, WJBK’s current set is not exactly like other Fox O&O s. Maybe similar to others but not exactly the same.

But woulnd't that make sense in you're a national chain... to have everything standardized and a similar look to all the outlets? Wouldn't they each end up with something better than if they tried to go the more expensive route and do each station individually?

Yes and no.. packages used to be much more market specific and included elements that were specific to the area the station served...
