Had no idea Scooby Doo once aired on CBS (WJBK)

In 1984, Bugs Bunny/Road Runner was consistent in the 10 am hour on Channel 2

Cool stuff!!

Great to see some of those tv listings............I loved that era of local tv.

WXON20 took over in the 70's as the place for kids tv from WKBD50 which was the king the 60's .I remember watching the marvel superheroes/Batman/Ultraman/Green Hornet on WXON.

Speaking of WJBK around 1968 they used to show Mighty Mouse cartoons before school in the morning.

With all the new diginets on OTA tv now its strange someone hasnt picked up on an old cartoon channel.Kids today would love some of these classics and so would the parents.

I think one of the problems is many of the shows are now owned by media conglomerates that are still focused on cable channels. Turner pretty much owns all of Hanna-Barbera and Warner Brothers cartoons, which they use to run Boomerang and Cartoon Network. Hasbro owns most of the 80's toy shows and are part of Discovery, and of course Disney owns plenty of rights they use for their channels. Retro TV use to play some Filmation reruns, so those are still out there. Not sure what is up with all the old DIC shows. Of course those two had a lot of crap, and the good shows are pretty much owned by Turner, Hasbro, and Disney.

I wish Comet would pick up more Sci-Fi themed shows from the 70's and 80's to fill time early in the day before the movies start at 10, but I think Sinclair likes the easy money of Infomercials too much to even bother.

The late 70's through the 80's was a great time for UHF TV. I would go back and forth between which was my favorite, Channel 20 or Channel 50, depending what shows they picked up from year to year. They would have at least 1 show in the morning and afternoon block I would want to tune into, and a few you tolerated as you waited for the show you wanted to watch. I even remember one summer in the early 80's where I would get up to watch Battle of the Planets at 7:00AM on 50, and then discovered I could get 43 from Cleveland to come in and they were showing Star Blazers at 6:30AM. So I was getting up and watching Star Blazers as signal got snower and snower till in was unwatchable by just around 7, then tuned into Battle of the Planets.

WJBK. Children's programming for hours and bam, right into Sir Graves Ghastly. No segues or anything.

Turner should get smart and add OTA for Boomerang i dont think it would hurt cable sub's.

Yes or someone could lease an hour or two block of shows on one of the sub-channels that just fills space with infomercials in the morning.

I noticed that Channel 11 did not air Saturday Supercade in 1984. I would imagine Toledo residents watched Channel 2 to get that show.
