106.5 Toledo/Delta

This is one of 3 stations Cumulus will eventually have to unload , They ended up shutting down one station in Missouri and just surrendering it to the fcc.

This might be a little hard to find a buyer for this station, due to it's limited signal. A commercial Broadcaster anyhow. Annunciation radio today was talking about there start in 2010 and how they have grown, they have a fall drive going on right now. Anyhow, I know they have a small signal in Bryan, which is just over 1k watts.

There was talk of Urban radio buying the station, but nothing other then a rumor has really amounted from the talk. IMO, if they were to add a 3rd signal, 107.7 would be the better of the 2. Plus AR would have no reason to need 107.7. 106.5's spotty coverage in the metro Toledo area probably wouldn't do much good for Urban, unless they paired it up with 97.3.

That all said, could a possible buyer for 106.5 be Annunciation radio? If they could somehow get it on the cheap or Cumulus somehow, decides to donate the station to them. Thus, unloading it and just writing it off.

sounds like a great idea for Cumulus to take a tax-write-off by donating 106.5 to Annunciation Radio - keeps it locally programmed for the most part as well, or they could even use it with a slightly different format- one more music and one more talk as it is now? They could have done the same thing with 1470, but knowing Cumulus, they'll surrender the license to the FCC with 2 days notice and then nobody wins again as they don't have enough time to put the financing together.

Who else would want that crappy cow pasture footprint, except yet another country station?

Please no more country stations LOL! 1470, if it the transmitter had been in good shape, I am sure you would have had a taker for the signal. Even with 1470 being free, it was still a turd. For what it would cost to fix it, you could have bought something that actually worked for less.

If I were betting, I'd say 106.5 could possibly be donated to Annunciation radio or to some other religious group.

Rearrange 1560 WTOD, you get 1065, 106.5FM. Programming: "The best of Chet Zablocki's Polka Party", Toledo's longest running radio show from the tape archives of Musicale Studios! Followed by brokered shows from Normy Wamer and Bob Kelly. The return of the "Andrew Z Show", sponsored by Weight watchers, the Divorce Lawyers of Cheetem and Howe, plus A-Z Bail Bonds. And for one useful idea, how about simulcasting either WTOL or WTVG 6pm and 11pm newscasts??

LOL. Anyways, I was thinking about The Buzz. I used to have tapes of stuff I recorded off there, the same voice over guy was on 94.5 K-rock I believe, WXKR's 2 year stint as an alternative station. Q95 Country in Adrian I think still uses those.

It was sort of amateurish looking back but that was the cool station back when I was in High School. A lot of memories there.
