Quietly, the station seems to be slowly phasing out its longtime imaging voice, Dave Michaels - better known locally as "the Deep Voice Guy."
This gentleman did all of the reads for a few years at WKQI, then followed Dom Theodore to 98.7 Amp Radio as part of that station's launch, and then when Dom Theodore left CBS and his successor installed a V/O artist of his own choosing, the "Deep Voice Guy" reappeared on WKQI, where he's been heard for at least the past six years.
In the last 40 minutes, I've literally heard only one promo featuring Michaels' voice.
Acceptable registrations in the queue through April 25 at 5:30p ET have now been activated. Enjoy! -M.W.
