Why would you put Christmas Music on HD subs when no one listens or cares?

WNIC polled its listeners and is rumored to start Christmas music November 8.

To hold out a little longer before flipping...

Re: the November 8 prediction, WNIC does seem to normally launch it mid-week, for whatever reason.

Wouldn't shock me if they flip as soon as Tuesday, though. Their sister station in Grand Rapids, Star 105.7, flipped late last week. In fact, much of the Grand Rapids area can hear 24/7 Christmas music on 3 (!!!) FM stations already.

I thought HD radio would be my sanctuary away from Christmas music. The 2 HD stations that attracted me to HD radio let me down. 2 out of my 5 HD presets are gone now. 😞

Would Christmas music be a viable year-long format so we don’t have to go through this change every year?

Maybe WOMC will start adding 90’s to the 200 song playlist again then cut the playlist to 150 songs after Christmas.

Yuck. Nothing is worse than Country Christmas Music. 93.1 convinced me of that years ago!!!

Looks like Christmas music is on HD 2 Stations, why no one is listening that’s a real marketing idea!

Move their Christmas format to the HD-1 and their old mainstream programming to the HD-2 and maybe some people might have a reason to figure out how to use the HD radio in their cars? That being said, I have the most sensitive FM tuner Kenwood sells, and none of the Detroit stations can hold the HD lock past the River Raisin in Monroe. I would have expected them to hold it to the state line going South, but not even superstation 104.3 could hold on pas Monroe. Are any of the Detroit market stations running more than the original 1% crap for their HD, but took advantage of the 10dB increase available?

It really doesn’t matter anything on HD subs in The D are all pretty much 3 or 4 hour rotations just like top 40 radio so you would bored fast I own 3 HD radios and don’t even use them maybe I’ll give them to Toys for tots.

WNIC has confirmed that it will be switching sometime tomorrow morning.

My furthest DTV tropo: KDKA Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at 202 miles for three days in January 2017 and a night in September 2017 with only an Antennas Direct C2V!

Current setup: Antennas Direct C2Max (2018-present)

Toledo's 101.5 The River is usually just a few days later than WNIC in switching.
