2019 wishlist

Post by hmtb44 » Mon Dec 31, 2018 3:35 pm

Just curious what anyone would like to see happen with Detroit radio next year?

I know none of mine will happen but would like to hear.

1. Drew and Marc back on terrestrial radio

2. Cristina on 106.7, would love mid days with a time warp lunch

3. Another attempt at sports.

Do I only get 3 Wishes Genie in the Bottle? #1 That 106.7 changes to R & B Oldies, #2 That 93.9 changes to Real Oldies, #3 That 93.1 changes back to Doug FM. Oh 1 more for good measure it’s not radio related, and this Wish is for my Wife that she cuts back on her hours at work so I can spend more time with her in 2019 that’s it for now. 10-4 good buddy.

That 93.1 changes back to Doug FM.
Something needs to change to variety hits.
WOMC needs some competition already

I would like a Detroit version of CKLW's talk format. Something local as a full service, talk radio station. WJR is "close", but with the exception of the political talk shows, it makes me tune out. Not saying politics is off limits, but shouldn't be their strategy. This town may be too big for that to be profitable, but it would be nice. (And i'm not talking about 910, that station is a joke.)

When I do listen to WJR, I find the traffic and weather on the 5's distracting and disruptive to the programming. I would love for that to go away. I don't believe WJR and WWJ are hitting the same ball. WWJ does traffic on the 8's, and it works because it doesn't interrupt programming. It IS the programming. On WJR, shows and discussions have to fall off course to make sure the traffic report gets in on the 5's.

My wishlist also includes reducing or eliminating these parasite translators.
