Regional Emmys

Post by lovinlife101 » Sun Jun 16, 2019 7:37 am

Once again, another opportunity for those in the business to dress up, eat a rubber chicken dinner, pay a third party, and pretend that anyone accomplished anything.

Michigan regional Emmy 2019 count:
Hotrod Harris: 0
Cher’s fanboy: 0

I will agree with you to the extent of a bunch ego inflated TV people patting each other on the back. Regardless at what level, I don't watch any of these award shows. Watching paint dry is more entertaining and honest.
Last night, they were posting photos with “Emmy ready!”

This morning, 🦗

If you really deserve an Emmy, you're not working in a non destination market. Emmys don't increase the paycheck.
It’s just a racket, a scheme by the Emmy organization to make some quick cash and for low-paid (notice I didn’t say “underpaid”) people to feel better about themselves.

HL101: For someone who bashes the Emmy Awards, I find it interesting that you're the one to start a thread to once again bash your former employers. Maybe there's some jealousy that your work isn't recognized with the Emmy... instead it lines most cat litter boxes these days.

As for the Emmy Awards, congrats to those who won or were nominated. I agree that they're not worth promoting since most viewers don't make their decisions of who to watch based off awards. But if industry professionals want to recognize great work, I say good for them.
1. Who’s HL101? To date, that account doesn’t exist. It may exist after this post, but it didn’t before.

2. My former employers are not media companies. Pharmaceuticals, petroleum, academia, and venture capital. Those are my former business pursuits and I live on that investment income now.

3. I never have and never will work in news, meteorology, sports, or any other media functions. If you have any proof I do or did, please share it. I’m happy to hear more of your lies.

Groan. This forum SUCKS.
Regional Emmys sure do, but people are still duped and believe they’re worth something.

I believe there are 63 Emmy categories in Michigan, and we'll say 5 entries in each category at $150 an entry. That's over $45,000. What do 63 trophies with engraving cost? $6300?
Oh, they get many more entries than that.

I’ll find out how much a few dozen pieces of plastic cost. Let me make a quick phone call to the Cracker Jack folks.

HL101: as someone who professes that he's not in the broadcasting (past, current or future -- which is a lie), why do you care how much the Emmy board charges for entries for Emmy consideration? No one is forcing anyone to submit their work for judging, so I'm not sure why you seem obsessed over this topic. And I say obsessed because you can go back and check out MULTIPLE years where you've trolled employees at your former employers, WNEM and WEYI
Who said I care about any dollar amount any organization scams out of people? The public is responsible for itself to avoid being hoodwinked and falling for a scheme.

Where did I say the Emmy organization forces anyone to do anything?

You know people who’ve worked with me? Name them!

I'll start with naming one former coworker: me. Because you don't know my identity doesn't mean I don't know yours. The halls of the Rusty Nickel are more spacious since your oversized ego left the building.

Yes, I am still employed by TV5, and management has made it very clear that they'd prefer us not to engage in these online forums. So, yes, I am choosing to remain anonymous (which is my right).

Not that that matters or has anything to do with you once again taking us away from the topic at hand: WJRT winning 2 Emmys, WEYI winning 1 award
You have no idea who I am. Nobody here does. Your guesses are WAY OFF!

I’ve never claimed to know who you are nor do I care. I don’t care where you work or whether you work at all.
