You can't possibly equate the quality of an NBC broadcast with one from a hack outfit like Sinclair, regardless of whatever political biases you have against Costas or Olbermann. Come on ...fuzzpower wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2019 8:55 amSports should not be political, but with NBC you have Costas and Olberman who have mad many political comments, while working in their sports roles.
Whatever company wins, I hope they make some major changes to the Tigers games. Craig Monroe adds nothing and should be the first one gone.

Sinclair Seen As Top Bidder At Fox Regional Sports Network Auction

As if Costas and Olberman would be taking over for Mickey York on Red Wings Live.

I never said they would. I’m just throwing out examples. NBC could get local people who do the same thing. That’s my point.

Yeah, that political garbage interjected into a sports network topic doesn't really matter. Sinclair is now in talks with Amazon to get financing to complete the Fox RSN purchase.

It also appears that Major League Baseball (the same one the has Bob Costas calling games on its MLB Network) would also have minority stake in a Sinclair purchase.

It looks like Sinclair is the "handshake" winner of the Fox Sports RSNs. The final price appears to be $10 billion.

Sinclair has also taken a majority stake in the YES Network with Amazon and had announced a joint venture with the Chicago Cubs to launch the Marquee Sports Network in Chicago in 2020.
I wonder if Sinclair will expand its "Stadium" brand from its subchannel and internet sports network across its newly aquired RSNs?

Knowing Sinclair...they'll probably do away with sports entirely and turn the networks into a regional network of far-right propaganda spinners. Or at least that's what I heard on a TV news-related Discord server.
My furthest DTV tropo: KDKA Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at 202 miles for three days in January 2017 and a night in September 2017 with only an Antennas Direct C2V!
Current setup: Antennas Direct C2Max (2018-present)

Sinclair is the winner!
I forgot that Sinclair already owns Tennis Channel.
Byron Allen is going to be a significant investor in the subsidiary Sinclair will be forming to hold the regional sports networks.

I see Stadium content going onto 21 RSN's that Sinclair bought wonder what they're going to call the new RSN's? I pretty much knew that Sinclair was the top bidder when it was a handshake deal a week before it was made public that Sinclair was buying the FOX Sports RSN's.
Go Pistons, Let's Go Redwings.

Byron Allen?
He owns the Weather Channel, just bought a TV Station group, owns Entertainment Studios, which produces and syndicates a number of shows, and feeds eight cable networks.
