Changes at 101.3

Post by MWmetalhead » Tue Feb 16, 2016 8:16 pm

Amid low ratings, it appears most of the out-of-town shows have been removed from the schedule, Brian Rivers is quite possibly out the door as PD, and the playlist has taken a decidedly classic rock turn.

Unfortunately, the awful Nikki Sixx show is still on the air.

If they're smart, they'd offer Eric Zane a job...

The last time this station had good ratings was about 2003 back when it was Bob and Tom, Ranger Bob, Matt Hendricks, Alison Harte and Aris Hampers. They can change the music and rebrand the station all they want, and it will never amount to anything as long as Isuckmedia owns it. This will be about the 15th music change since it was CUZ, and it still sucks. What a waste of a signal. A station with all out of market shows and talent won't amount to SH_T. The station has become background, sadly.

I bet Eric Zane will turn up somewhere at some point, on here maybe.

I can remove them from my presets; they basically offer the same white trash playlist as 106.7 in Detroit now.

Music started to sound bad a few months ago, frankly.

Isn't Rivers also the PD for ESPN 96.1?

I have not enjoyed their music selections in quite some time, probably all the way back to the BFX days. It's almost a sure thing to flip to 101.3 after hearing a song I don't care for on LAV of somewhere else and have that SAME DAMN SONG playing on the brew.

And as much as I dislike their music, the imaging for the station is just awful. I get it - it's a corporate brand and they're going after the "manly men", but it's stale, boring and it just bugs me.

I thought they were onto something when they were in the mainstream rock vein. That station sounded pretty good during the summer, but then when they started axing the Active Rock acts, it just seemed like a mess. So, now they've run back to a safe, corporate classic rock playlist...which will be doomed to fail.

Maybe better would be if 101.3 were a straight up CHR station and 104.5 shifted to Urban Contemporary...but I like the idea of 101.3 shifting to straight up Active with Eric Zane in there somewhere...

They probably will. He'll probably take it, he has bills to pay.
In one year, he will go the way of all his predecessors who have worked for WBFX.

On the other hand, the Intersection has strong ties with I Heart Radio, so they may have already been spooked out of this move.
