Career politician enables her rapist son

Her son apparently sexually assaulted a female classmate, credibly to the point of being expelled from the school. However, she is now accused of using her political influence to get her son reinstated to the same school. So now, the victim of her rapist son now has to see this POS daily in school, constantly reminded of what happened to her. And if her son is any bit the smug spoiled asshole his mom is, he most certainly is rubbing it into this girl's face.

Ol' Bar' would be the first person up in arms on social media if this exact same scenario played out for a politician with a "R" behind their name. Complete hypocrite. She deserves any and all heat lobbied her way on this one.

Those so far have been the only organizations to report her name as being involved. The rest of the local media have not.

Everybody gets different information, they may have different policies. It's not some monolith that does everything identically to everything else doing the same job or something.

If I was the parent of the victim I'd be suing the school and leave the school and go to a different school and I'd sue Barb Byrum & the husband as well.

Exactly. The kicker from what I understand is that they don't even live in the district - they are a school of choice family to Mason. Even more reason why the school district could have told them to take a hike. That is, if the district wasn't being put under political pressure to reinstate.

I wondered too about the police report - something tells me they were "convinced" to handle it in-house and not involve the police. Especially since dad is involved with the Ingham County Sheriff Dept.

They are suing both the district and the Byrums. As for moving districts - the girl did nothing wrong and it shouldn't be on her to move to eliminate the situation.
