This is an easy one.
If employers could get away with paying cis females less money for the exact work that a cis male does, they would hire only cis females.
But that’s not the case.
Here’s what really happens.
Man works 12 months a year and gets paid for the year’s work.
Woman works six months a year, has a baby and takes off the other six months, and makes less for working six months instead of 12.
Then she bitches (see what I did there) about earning less.
Woman: “Why do I make less than the men around here?”
Boss: “You literally worked half as much as him.”
Woman: “What does that have to do with anything?! You should pay me the same regardless! I’m joining a union!”
