Not shocking that former WXYZ News Director is firing anyone who stands up to her. As a GM, she fired a popular anchor and had a screaming match with him in the newsroom. Nice to see some things don't change with her from her time at WDIV and WXYZ. But glad she's out of Michigan. Hopefully never allowed back in!

Once, while leading up to our noon show at the Qube, there must have been some kind of medical emergency in the building because there was an ambulance parked on the street outside. The ambulance was in the background of our anchor shots. We got a call in the control room from the ND. She asked us if we could get in contact with someone in the Qube to ask them if (and I’m not even kidding) they could move the ambulance.

The former ND is Rhonda LaVelle who is now the GM in Rochester. That's why the story is not about Detroit She was a terrible ND and sounds like a similar GM. She yelled and screamed at everyone. She didn't know news at all until the competition had it. One time a reporter got the sister of a victim and Channel 4 had the brother. She blew a nut about why the reporter didn't have the brother and made them go back out to get the brother. Everyone was like what is the different. Same story, That is how clueless she was. She was there because she was a client of Mort Meisner and Mike Murray loved to hire his boy's clients. Ratings tanked, lots of people left and she finally was pushed out. Now, her reign of terror continues on elsewhere.

Rochester, NY is a shit hole city (essentially, a larger and much snowier version of Saginaw). It is also a very small market. Makes sense that she'd wind up there.

Rochester, MN is a much nicer place to live than Rochester, NY, but it is an even smaller media market. It is market #152, I believe, which places it behind Traverse City by a few dozen.

Wait wait wait.. side note MW.. have you been to Rochester NY? Its a beautiful city! Nothing like Saginaw. Its downtown is full of lofts and coffee shops, restaurants, students etc. The Park Ave neighborhood is beautiful. The suburbs are high end and gorgeous. Its widely considered the best Upstate NY city. Its also like Market 75-80, so same TV market size as a Flint etc.
