WDIV studio

Post by TRTV » Tue Nov 28, 2023 7:54 pm

Meteorologist Bryan Schuerman posted a photo on his Facebook a few days ago and it was the local 4 News desk in front of a green screen. Looks like a temporary studio? Is wdiv redoing their permanent studio? Surprising if they are as it isn’t that old?

The current studio has been in use for about a decade, it seems to me.

Something new would be nice.

Hopefully, it doesn't turn out to be the pile of crap Fox 2's last set redesign turned out to be.

I have no inside information, but I noticed the signs a couple of weeks ago. "Live In The D" moved to a different, more "homey" set, and the main camera angle on "First at 4" was switched to show the large video wall that's to the left of the anchor desk (when you're looking at it.) Also, in a shot of anything more than two people, the desk looks askew compared to the backdrop. Considering the set debuted in August of 2014, I'm not surprised it's apparently getting a tweak.

What, you dont like that desk shaped like a "2" that looks incredibly awkward?

The folks who sit at the back of that desk look like they are ten miles away from the camera whenever a meteorologist joins them on set. LOL

The fluff show sets (i.e The Nine and whatever they call the shit fest at Noon) look decent. It is the portion of the set used for hard news that looks weird.

Maybe his hair plugs are getting redone 🤣

Like bro, you started the weather with thinner hair, we are all gonna notice the ugly hair plugs after and should have kept the natural look

I liked how he told us last Saturday (or was it Friday?) to "crack out the snowblowers" because of last weekend's snowfall forecast.

In my area, there was only the thinnest film of snow on the asphalt and concrete. Grass and elevated surfaces had about a half inch of depth.

I got about an inch… it was enough to scrape but a snowblower would have been like bringing a gun to a knife fight.

I got my LEAF blower out to get rid of what was on the sidewalk, so it didn't turn icy as folks walked over it. Blew most of it off the sidewalk and the sun took care of the rest.

Anything else on this? Is the studio being renovated?

Not sure on WDIV’s, but I agree the Fox2 one with the weird “2” desk is just that: weird.
