Fox 2 was often the crappiest of the full power signals when using rabbit ears (not counting channel 9). RF channel 2 is susceptible to electrical interference.

Even so, 2's analog signal was always very watchable.

4, 7, 20 and 62 always came in clearly with minimal effort. 38 was also excellent when I lived in Sterling Heights and Warren.

Overall, I'd say WADL is the worst due to the short tower and not being in Southfield like the others. It's virtually impossible with rabbit ears in western Wayne, Downriver, and especially Ann Arbor. Of course, it's fantastic in Macomb and probably St. Clair counties.

The WADL signal could be fixed rather quickly. Detroit Public TV is 1080i which means they could use channel sharing with WADL if they are willing to broadcast with 720p.

If you watch FOX 2 over the ATSC 3.0 transmission, you can get it with a UHF antenna. It also gets out to the west without too much difficultly. You will be missing out on channels 2.2 through 2.6 using the method, however.

Detroit Public TV airs dual 1080i streams on its channel already. PBS Kids is the second one.

You're right. I always thought that two 1080i's wouldn't work over ATSC 1.0

My TV set indicates that channel 50.5 is also in 1080i. Right now, there is a test pattern that reads CBS TV DETROIT on it.
