The special re-aired this morning. My mom thoroughly enjoyed the "2Hot" dance show segment, believe it or not.

All I know is Power 96 seems like a much more fun radio station than the present day WDVD (whose calls perhaps mean "We're Detroit's Venereal Disease")!

When I think of "DVD", I think more of those movies on small discs the size of CDs.

I've heard WKBD planned a show with WKNR's Gary Stevens, but Gary left for New York shortly after WKBD signed on in early 1965, so the show may not have made it to air.

The only dance program in the Kaiser / Field chain that I knew of was Hy Lit's show from WKBS Philadelphia -- I imagine for some shows, one station in the "family" would produce and share with the other stations, just like what WKBD did with Lou Gordon.

I thought this was disapointing. It felt all over the place. 4 and 7 did a much better job at packaging their histories.

I caught a little bit of it this morning. Was expecting to catch the weather at my usual 4:30ish time.
They preempted the usual 4am newscast to show the special.

Myself, I've never do warm up to any of the "pat ourselves on the back" stuff. Broadcasting history like this.
Tributes to someone leaving. That sort of thing. Probably just me.
