Auto Show Charity Preview on WDIV

Post by SolarMax » Fri Sep 15, 2023 7:11 pm

Loco4 announced on-air and in the xfinity guide that Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy would be seen on 4.3 MeTV, while 4.1 carries the Auto Show Charity Preview.
I and many others could not give a sh*t about the Auto Show silliness.
In fact, the usual MASH episode is running on MeTV, and not Wheel, as advertised. Expect to not see Jeopardy (a "tournament" series) at 7:30 either. Thanks WDIV.

At 7:34pm, MeTV is currently airing Wheel of Fortune. The strange part is that it is about 15-20 minutes into the episode.

They must have started it at 7:15pm???

And at 8pm, halfway through Jeopardy, MeTV went back to being MeTV. Instead of Double Jeopardy, there’s Barney Fife.

I'm in agreement with SolarMax.
The Auto Show is important to the media and the auto industry. Not your average Metro Detroiter.

Shame on WDIV for screwing over hundreds of thousands of loyal Jeopardy viewers.

What did FOX and ABC do? CBS did a streaming only show rather than cover programming for the evening. Seeing the responses above, that seems like it should be the preferred choice for WDIV going forward.

These televised specials are nothing more than ass kissing marathons bestowed upon local politicians and auto execs.

WWJ did auto show coverage as well, but it was done the right way by, according to this poster, by not interrupting their on-air programming. & in my opinion they did a good job.

Just what they need to build an excellent package to sell to advertisers.

Remember, viewers are merely a product to sell to agencies.

Aren't all these episodes reruns anyway with the writers strike? Besides it's Jeopardy it's been the same format forever.

I believe you are correct about last night's episode being a rerun.

"Wheel" is into its new season.
Jeopardy is new shows, for next few weeks is a "Second Chance" tournament of former contestants, using clues "recycled" from long-past shows, not newly-WGA-written ones. The show that Loco4 cut off in the middle was the determination of which of the week's contestants will be included in the tournament's finals. So viewers didn't see the Final Jeopardy finale and winner.

Thanks for the info.

In that case, definitely a shitty move on WDIV's part.
