In fairness, he's probably regurgitating MDOT's recommended detour.

John R near 14 Mile is under construction and was down to a single lane southbound last weekend. Stephenson Highway was closed at 12 Mile last time I went to Costco. If you wait until 11 Mile to exit, there may be a big backup.

All in all, I don't think his suggested route is that bad.

Campbell, and John R can work, but Woodward can definitely handle more volume. Telegraph isn't a good option for avoiding I-75 thanks to the ongoing work between 8 Mile and Grand River.

You are correct that MDOT suggests Telegraph as an alternate complete with detour signs along Telegraph.

8 mile, telegraph, 275, 96, 696, mound, all horrid

Not sure whose bright idea it was to tear up everything at once but I want to vote them off the island.

To add insult to injury, I believe either 10 Mile Rd or Grand River Ave near 275 is under construction, too.

The good news is I believe the I-75 construction in southern Oakland County will be finished soon.

75 is closed this weekend and Woodward is under construction through Ferndale.

8 Mile has been down to one lane from 75 to Van Dyke.

MDOT loves to screw up parallel and nearby roads.

You can add one more to the list... Middlebelt is closed over I-696 (or it was, for quite awhile) so you can't dodge the Telegraph construction backups going that way either.

9 mile east of Haggerty is closed and 10 mile west of Haggerty is closed.

Shocking, I know.

23 north and south from Silver Lake Rd to just north of 96, 96 from Kent Lake to M10 and then 275.

This whole area is a zoo.

Inkster is closed under 696.

There are many more I’m sure.

Glad I don't live in that neck of the woods.

I hate that 275 / 10 Mile Rd / Haggerty / Grand River Ave area enough when there is NO construction! LOL

I don't, but my office is in Novi, Grand River west of Haggerty and we have a few sites in Novi/Farmington Hills. Let's just say I should buy stock in Advil.

Slightly off topic, but I noticed on LinkedIn that Brooke Allen is no longer a WWJ news anchor. Anyone know what happened?
Brooke is definitely missed. Tracey is good co-anchoring, but I don't care for her anchoring solo.

Budget cuts, or is 950 trying to fix soft ratings?

I liked Allen in middays but not afternoon drive.

There is nothing to “fix”. They are more than happy with the ratings. Brooke left on her on own accord, an insider tells me.
