Man.... Audio on the left rear channel only.... Finally fixed, but they had to go to a black screen with no sound to get the job done. Is this part of their transition to ATSC 3?

I noticed that same audio problem on WXYZ-TV 7 today around noon.
Many years ago when NBC switched to stereo audio from old NTSC mono, on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno they made a big deal about it, announcing the change over to stereo as occurring live, and with a countdown. When the change occurred, the picture went to black and white--a very funny bit.
