I remember when my folks purchased a Panasonic VHS VCR around 1988. It was a really big deal, and yes, those machines were expensive back then!I can remember walking into one with my patents to buy there first VCR that I think cost around 600.00 back then
Even with a fresh, previously unused tape, the picture and especially audio quality for live programming that was recorded always seemed miserable.
For movie rentals from the video store, the quality seemed better.
