WPZR off air?

Post by Mega Hertz » Mon Nov 25, 2019 8:19 pm

102.7 is pure static in Brighton right now, and we generally get a fairly signal here.

Good catch. It was a very long day yesterday.

Zero signal here last night from 102.7. I live only four miles from their new TX site.

I couldn't hear even a hint of W4, though. They must be operating at reduced power.

They may have a separate HD transmitter. If it was still working, it would have toasted W4.

You could be right; the Air-1 translators were all still on the air. Those are all fed by WDKL-HD2, I believe. Would've been interesting to see what I could've picked up at 102.7 MHz on the HD Radio in the car last night while the analog signal was off the air.

I am receiving WDKL on 102.7 at 9AM on Tuesday, November 26, 2019. Whatever technical issue they may have had must have been resolved last night.

It SOUNDED like WIOG was bleeding over as I was getting a very faint sound of modern pop product, but it was general static. With reliable signals at 102.5-102.9, it's hard for anything else to sneak in.
