RE: "Drivers who fail to stop at crosswalks "... I wonder how many cops even know what the law really is??

Also, re: "The enforcement campaign is supported with federal traffic safety funds"... it's pretty disgusting that the federal government is involved in the enforcement of local laws like this AT ALL. I wonder how much of that money gets "lost" between the collection point (IRS) and the distribution point, and wasted at some federal level. If folks want heightened enforcement, it should be fully funded at the local or state level.

Weeping for the future is all well and good, but if this message board is the joke of the business, as you also said today, aren’t you shedding your tears in the wrong direction? Why bother with this if it’s not worthy of any serious discussions?

If your attempts are to either raise or lower the discussion to a level you feel suits you, then labeling the whole collective a joke would likely work counter to that aim.

However, if it’s merely a diversion meant to pass the time, then that would better explain the divergence.

Not that I feel it’s worth weeping over.

I also feel that these law enforcement issues aren’t the federal government’s job, and while hardly earthshaking news, the tv news departments are unfortunately usually best at the basic stories that don’t require much reporting, and can be read almost verbatim from a press release.

It's not the future I weep for.

It's the present that draws tears.

You must have seen what my wife got me for my birthday.

New York and Chicago were all in with respect to their sanctuary status — until they were hit with the challenge of actually providing sanctuary. In other words, typical liberal hypocrisy.
