Brian Chapman on 97.1 is a doofus

Post by MWmetalhead » Sun Mar 18, 2018 8:47 pm

This circus clown actually said on the air earlier this evening that because UMBC was off to a 5-0 in the first three minutes of its game against Kansas State, that the team was "underseeded" and would "most likely win tonight by 10 or 15 points."

How did this utter TOOL get an on-air gig in Detroit? My guess is 97.1 pays peanuts to the folks who host the weekend shifts.

Radio's downfall has been under-investing in its core competency and becoming distracted by delusions of grandeur by thinking development of a half-assed national digital strategy will somehow put it on par with the Facebooks and Googles of the world.

He used to buy time in Toledo, so I guess it’s a step up.

1. It's 97.1. We know what they are by now.
2. Wasn't Brian Chapman normally on the overnight shift so no one can hear him? Why did you have him on?

It was early Sunday evening; wanted to hear commentary regarding the MSU debacle.

A few of his callers were quite good, which was a pleasant surprise.

Don't be fooled...he gave himself the moniker of "Chappy."

He wished people "Chappy New Year" on New Year's Day. It's annoying.

He really is bush league, but does that surprise you? It's not like XYT is known for its HOF broadcasters...Dan Leach (who does live reads for vape stores), Caputo, Karsch, Anderson.
