Not me.
I don't give a crap what WNIC does.
They sound like shit.
Not me.
Some states allow or used to allow marriage at 16 so maybe that provides a loophole. Otherwise, i thought it was wierd, too, that those lyrics could be played in any decade on radio.Steve Korvette wrote: ↑Wed Mar 06, 2019 3:47 pmHow about Benny Mardones “Into The Night” You know she was just sixteen years old and they said leave her alone. Looks illegal to me. What do you think.
The lyrics in that tune always stuck in my head, And I played it a million times on the air and just laughed my ass off every time I played it.The singer sounds like a 40 something and the 16 year old girls parents are saying leave her alone she’s just 16 years old or we’ll call the authorities.Y M Ionhere wrote: ↑Thu Mar 07, 2019 7:56 amSome states allow or used to allow marriage at 16 so maybe that provides a loophole. Odd they all died from drugs except Madoona, yet.Detroit313 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 07, 2019 12:24 pmI remember in the 2000s 100.3 WNIC and 105.1 WMGC would play Whitney Houston, Madonna and Prince from the 80s but barely any Michael Jackson. His numbers went up after 2009.
The AOC has been rising in recent years. Here's a map. In MI, it's 16. I think some the Mexican border states have raised them because of illegal aliens being exploited. Concern about going across state borders as a loophole was first addressed in 1910 by The Mann Act. The Mann Act, despite it's name, also applies to Women exploiting Men, which many teachers have found out.Y M Ionhere wrote: ↑Thu Mar 07, 2019 7:56 amSome states allow or used to allow marriage at 16 so maybe that provides a loophole. She's never had any issues with drugs or alcohol and her kids are not a mess. Unlike many others.jsf wrote: ↑Thu Mar 07, 2019 2:52 pmOdd they all died from drugs except Madoona, yet.Detroit313 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 07, 2019 12:24 pmI remember in the 2000s 100.3 WNIC and 105.1 WMGC would play Whitney Houston, Madonna and Prince from the 80s but barely any Michael Jackson. That you're aware of Alan Almond is what is weird af.stopnswop2 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 07, 2019 2:34 amDid anyone hear Chris Edmonds last weekend talking weird?
He sounded like he was trying to imitate Alan Almond, and it was...weird af.
I am not saying that only Madonna, Prince and Michael Jackson were or are the only ones getting played from the 80s. But those 3 are and have been by far the 3 most played artists on AC radio from that decade.stopnswop2 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 08, 2019 4:03 amI'm confused why you mention only those 3 artists from the 80s.
The 80s were not played sparingly.
They were both playing music as old as 1960 during the 2000s.
WNIC in particular focused on older music with a sprinkling of current AC hits.
It truly lived up to it's "Your Variety Station" branding.
Weird in a purely statistical way, nothing to do with your musical tastes. You appear to be rather young; perhaps I'm in error.stopnswop2 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 08, 2019 1:49 pmAre you saying i'm weird for liking Pillow Talk??....
Believe it or not but middle aged women are not the only people that listen to that type of music.
