Will CSN (NBC universal) make a play in the Detroit market?

Post by CircleWXYZ » Sat Aug 05, 2017 11:47 am

I realize that Fox and Fox Sports dominates this market, with FsN Detroit having the rights to the Tigers, Pistons, and Red Wings, and Fox Sports with the Lions (NFC package). However, with NBC in a major sports deal with the NHL and the Red Wings being a major drawl, do you think it's possible that CSN will begin to filter into the market? If they do and they are successful, I can see NBC either making a play to buy WDIV, being ruthless enough to buy another Detroit station. What they did in Boston was criminal. I am under the impression that they could make a play for Detroit in a few years. When does NBC's contract with Local 4 expire?
