With the snow moving in this weekend, time to break out the crock pot and make beef stew
Don't forget the bay leaves....

Oh, substituting parsnips instead of carrots, or a mixture of both, is a favorite of mime.

I might even take a pot down to the local gendarme stations Saturday night as I'm sure they'll be putting in some long hours.

Parsnips are disgusting. Three things that should never be fed to humans are parsnips, squash and sweet potatoes.

Well, OK. Maybe it would be alright to feed them to cops.
Don’t be snippy with us about it...

I happen to enjoy all three when prepared properly.

Roasted Butternut squash risotto is fantastic.

New York and Chicago were all in with respect to their sanctuary status — until they were hit with the challenge of actually providing sanctuary. In other words, typical liberal hypocrisy.

I like squash and sweet potatoes but not parsnips. Big fan of Brussel Sprouts when cooked with unhealthy bacon wrapped around them in the oven and love Collard Greens when done properly

Also add to the list of never nevers, ZUCHINI. :barf

Do you like carrots? I'm trying to wrap my head around why people wouldn't like parsnips. They are pretty close to a carrot only a tad sweeter.

Oh. And one more for the list. How could I have forgotten? Cantaloupe. I can't even stand the smell of it.

A nice hearty cantaloupe and zucchini bisque sounds delightful on a cold winter day, or serve it cold in the summer on a nice bed of brussel sprouts, or collards if you want a creole taste to it.....

No, you have shown how ignorant you actually are. Fire and EMS work a 24 hour shift, Law Enforcement works a minimum 12 hour shift on holidays so the majority of them miss the holiday, this way they don't. You are an ignorant fool, and one day it will bite you hard and I only hope we all can witness it.
No, they do not.
Most fire departments are run by Volunteer, unless you live in a big city.

In the middle of nowhere they are volunteer... most suburbs where most people and first responders are do not have volunteer anything.
