WOMC-HD-2 is more like the WOMC-FM of 20-30 years ago. Complete with "Oldies 104.3" jingles.

Pam Rossi's "Sunday Morning Brew" sounds pretty good each Sunday. You know that it's inevitable that it will be full of Nickelback and Third Eye Blind in six months with the way all of the CBS Classic Hits stations are going.... :barf

yeah Ikr. I called and tried to request the Foundations and she looked everywhere and said "Build Me Up Buttercup" is no longer in the system.
Makes me mad. Susan Cruise would play any 60's song I asked for and like every other weekend I would do Build Me Up Buttercup, now they don't even have it anymore. "Rescue Me" by Fontella Bass is gone as well.

I suppose it's time to accept the 60's is too old to be called oldies lmao.

I have heard "Mambo No. 5" by Lou Bega a once, "All Star" by Smash Mouth twice, The Guess Who version of American Woman has now been replaced with the Lenny Kravits verson. The 2002 song "Game of Love" by Santana ft. Michelle Branch is on there now. "The Sign" by Ace of Base is in daily rotation now as well, but it fits in nicely actually. Two U2 songs from 2000 play but fit in nicely as well. Wayyyy too many Third Eye Blind songs play though :barf .
"I Try" by Macy Gray I heard twice. "fly away" by Lenny kravits a few times. "3 A.M." by Matchbox 20 comes on sometimes.

I have no problems with the more adult oriented 90's songs at all, but the 3rd Eye Blind songs needs to go and songs post 2000... just ugh, no more please.

Also they finally Redid those awful new jingles they had for a few weeks and finally have back new catchy JAM jingles with a modern twist.

Only other issue I have is the reduction of a lot of 70s music. They focus mainly on 80s, which have never went away since they came out. I have been hearing Jessie's Girl and Tainted Love over and over for decades. I would like to listen to some more 70s pop songs instead or if they refuse to do that, at least put DIFFERENT 80s song on and put "Africa" by Toto in a vault for a while XD!!

I love WHMI, they still play a ton of 60s and 70s music along with the 80s and a few 90s hits.

Well, I think we would all agree that WOMC is better than WHNN..,I heard the Commodores and Lady Gaga on there...
WHNN is a trainwreck. I've heard Keith Urban on there. When I heard that, I thought I was getting WQLK or WKFM (both of which are country stations).

Talk about confusion, I once heard Joe Stampley's "You're my Soul Song" on WCHB when it was on 1440.

That was maybe a mistake, but Joe Stampley mixed Country and Soul with his early records, so it could have been a holdover. I can't remember if it got play on R&B stations then (I could see record promoters trying to get airplay, as that happened many times back in the 70s, and I remember being pushed on unlikely records, but sometimes they charted nationally or were big sellers you couldn't ignore). But I do remember Crystal Gayle charting big time and getting played with "Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue "on WJLB! They weren't the only one, too!

WHNN is not a classic hits station anymore. It is a Modern Adult Contemporary station now.

The Flint market does have 4 other stations that play "classic hits" though. WMJO (Adults Hits), WMPX (Gold Adult Contemporary), WMRX (Gold Adult Contemporary), and WRSR (Classic Rock). These stations focus mainly on the 60's-80's, similar to how WOMC was until more recent years.

My post post was from May 22nd, where I heard Commodores and Lady Gaga.

Are you saying they changed again?
Ask not what your country can do FOR you; ask what they are about to do TO YOU!!

WOMC and the other Classic Hit owned by CBS O&O’s all are top rated. In New York WCBS-FM is constantly #1 and they have changed the playlist as did WOMC. With 60’s and 70’s tunes no longer airing it recognizes those from the 60’s are 57-year-old. 1970 folk are 46. Can’t say are old because I’m older. Other owners like Cox Radio also have top rated Classic Hit stations. Folks it’s all logical. WOMC and its Classic Hit’s format ain’t going anywhere.
As someone mentioned WOMC HD 2 is the station you want.

I've heard a lot more 70s music today on 104.3. Sounds good, IMHO. Still only about 30% 70s, which seems about right.

So about their HD2

I decided to turn it on again, and was shocked to hear 70s music. and the 50s are like gone.
I also heard no Oldies 104.3 Jingles.
just the jingles they used on the HD1 station before the new crappy ones.

That's a good ratio because Detroit skews older than most major markets

WOMC HD2 did not drop the older music. In the last half hour I heard:
Love is Strange by Mickey and Sylvia 1956
These Boots Are Made For Walking by Nancy Sinatra 1966
Summertime Blues by Eddie Cochran 1958
Yes I'm Ready by Barbara Mason 1965

They did drop the old jingles.

As I predicted many months ago, they would end up losing listeners to CSX and NIC after removing the 60s and 70s.. now with last months ratings, they have added back some of the 1960s songs they were playing previously, and more 70s as well. so its now late 60s thru like 2002. its a great variety!

I don't detect too much change in the 70s tunes. With the few 60s tunes, given that most have 'car' themes, I think these are just for Dream Cruise week.

I do wish that the 60/70s music in addition to the regular fare was permanent, though.

They are playing some car tunes I'll admit, but I've heard plenty that are not car related.
The Lenny Kravitz version of American Woman has been replaced with the Guess Who version, "Get Together" by The Youngbloods, Magic Carpet Ride by Steppenwolf, a lot of Van Morrison songs again, Summer in The City by The Lovin' Spoonful, Steely Dan songs, a lot more 1970s Elton John hits, A couple Rolling Stones songs from the 60s, several Beach Boys songs, CCR songs, Canned Heat, Ramblin' Man by the Allman Brothers, "Wild Thing", I heard "Do you love me" by the contours the other day, some 60s motown, Devil With a Blue Dress On.

I could ramble on and on, but I'll stop here lol.
