It's interesting that Ron is now concentrating on trying to rope in sportswriters instead of octagenerian and nonagenarian (and,if Ronnie can find a lucid centenarian,he'll be on the show) sports people, who usually pass away within weeks of their guest appearance.(Chico Fernandez,Sen. Jim Bunning,Budd Lynch,Virgil Trucks and Bob Wolff to name five.) Save Tigers first-base coach Ramon Santiago, who retired after the 2017 season,Ron's never gotten any active or just-retired athlete guests.Wonder who'll be his first such guest ?
Most current players don't know who the hell Ron Cameron is or was and if they should be talking to him.
J.

I guess Ron and Sipp are boys, which is strange given Sipp is African American (from Mississippi,I believe),and VERY FEW of Ron's friends are black.Hmmmmm.

What a bizzare show today. Paul Woods was fine but the first hour of open line was all over the place and included Ron chomping on food and sneezing.

I guess a restaurant brought the boys some grub, and Ron bogarted most of the victuals,as is likely his wont.

It's an absolute delight. At one point Alex has to tell him to get back to the show and different topics. He must go crazy sometimes dealing with Ron!

It was definitely humorous! Ron’s a hungry man on that Sunday show! Alex always is the secret MVP on the show, making sure Ron has some important info about guests gleaned off that Mystical, Magical Computer!

I guess he doesn't do this, but I'd pay almost anything were Ron to interview his most senior callers, such as Kurt in Fraser,John the Trump lover,J.J. in Lincoln Park, and of course, the Windsor,Ont.,lad who seems a Buzzboard topic!!!!

Despite his obvious success,I wonder if Ron would be hired at any radio outlet in 2018.(TV,of course not,due to his less-than-telegenic looks.I also wonder how long he will remain at The Patriot due to health issues and perhaps dissatisfaction at the radio and TV business today.

Yesterday was 2 hours of open line and it sounded like a real radio show with flow topics and back and forth between Ron and Alex. Not a bad listen.

No disrespect to Ron,but Alex is the show's star, often dissuading Ron from his wilder notions, and generally being an excellent producer.(Perhaps 97.1 can swoop in and bag Alex,as most of its producers BLOW!!!)

Alex dumped someone for cursing on the air in the five o'clock hour, and Ken Medea,long-time scout and FOR (friend of Ron) was the six o'clock guest.

Frequent caller JJ also said that Alex was one of the best partners Ron has had. Good hour with Ken.

Yeah,Ken mentioned the concern by some in the Mariners' front office about Ken Griffey Jr's bottom-heavy build which might have been a precursor to the frequent leg and hamstring injuries which prevented "The Kid" from breaking Henry Aaron's homerun record.

I mean why wouldn't he? Seems to have alot of good and not rediculos opinions on all topics and has learned some history from Ron. I'd check it out if it happened.

Last Sunday,Ron,who unconditionally backs umpires (being a failed ump),hung up on a caller who suggested that umpire Jim Joyce intentionally screwed the Tigers by blowing the call on Armando Galarraga's June 2,2010 putative perfect game.I wouldn't have hung up on the caller (if he didn't persist in his folly),because though the now-retired Joyce, one of baseball's best boys in blue (or black,as they're presently attired),in a show of class, admitted to botching the call (the equally-classy Galarraga accepted Joyce's apology ),Joyce CERTAINLY had no anti-Tigers agenda.
