Ron Cameron
Re: Ron Cameron
Ron's talking about not wanting to have someone like Tom Seaver, with dementia, as a guest (really, Mr. Positive?!), reminds me of a classic Ron story. As is his wont, he was promoting Jim Northrup as his guest for several weeks, multiple times an hour. That continued the first hour of the show on the appointed date for Northrup's scheduled appearance, with repeated references to his guest appearing the next hour. The next hour came, &, after the newsbreak, there was a long pause, followed by Ron announcing that Jim Northrup would not be on the show that day because "his wife said he has Alzheimer's." Northrup would die a few weeks later. Years later, Ron would boast that he had Northrup on his show right before he died. He did not.

Re: Ron Cameron
Mr Positive should be called Mr. Joke.
What is this deal with him being the first caller, having nothing to say, and finish with "Ron, I'll call you tonight".

Re: Ron Cameron
So Greg asks a substantive question about the future of minor leagues & Ron defaults to a story about himself. And, as always, he's the victim to some unscrupulous person, in this instance, Macomb County "Director" Mark Hackel.
Re: Ron Cameron
And here I came to Greg's defense & he concludes is by redirecting listeners to some other site, not the "downers" here who don't support Ron!

Re: Ron Cameron
As a "downer" it's the same stale stories week after week. How many are even true?

My mission now is to infest that other site with some downer talk.

No, Kurt, Babe Ruth only had 9 home runs - not 17, as you said - in August 1927, the year he hit 60.

Ron is 75 years old and he's eating in restaurants. This guy is totally oblivious for free food.
Re: Ron Cameron
Denny apparently isn’t interested in being on the show anymore. Of course, Ron has to spin it by making it seem that it’s HIS decision, that since Denny hasn’t had him as a guest he’s not going to extend an invitation. But that ignores that Ron continued to have Denny as a regular guest well after the podcast started.
Re: Ron Cameron
And he’s now attributing his departure from WDTK to Trump & WSU sporting events. Nothing about him being banned from the studio.

Ron changed the tune of leaving the Patriot. It was because of Donald Trump now but back in the winter he said he had explosive diarrhea and he was banned from station.
Re: Ron Cameron
Ron never takes responsibility for anything. Another one of his great attributes.

Re: Ron Cameron
It seems like most of these callers are very friendly and easy-going, what draws them into calling Ron?
Re: Ron Cameron
As for the West Bloomfield eatery he was just bashing for its bad location, while it’s true that it was not a good location, it’s not like it moved after he launched there with typical great fanfare & talk of it being a great location. And this was the restaurant that he said was failing because ‘Jews won’t go to a restaurant without a coupon.’ Another great Cameron memory. As I was then a West Bloomfield resident, I shortly thereafter received a coupon for the restaurant that made absolutely no sense.
