What's funny is, I was in radio when PPM came out. They had us nailing down anything we did down to the millisecond. "Tickets for the John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown tribute band coming up after Greg Kihn at 8:43!" Listening to Doug makes if sound like it's still 2009.

The best news of all of this is that he and Jennifer Hammond will have the Lions post game call in slot instead of another year of Rieger.

Don't be surprised if Dan Miller has Stone on Sunday night Sportsworks from time to time.

For what it’s worth, Gregg Henson believes Costa will get the morning gig. Also seems to think Wojo might find himself “mutually” deciding to retire as well.

It’s been a long time since Stoney was Alboms producer , on a Sunday night sports show on WLLZ. I believe it was, late 80’s.

Been years since I listened to sports radio.
Does Stoney still have a man-crush on Bruce Springsteen? Bruuuuuuuce!!

Ah yes, the Sunday Sports Albom. I really enjoyed that show.

Mitch was on the road for the Free Press so often that Stoney would fly solo as host quite a bit, and Mitch would just call in.

Once Stoney left for DFN, Fred Heumann took over as cohost. It was never quite the same show after that. And once it moved from WLLZ to WJR, I felt it took another step back. The news, traffic, and weather ate up too much time. More segments were prerecorded. On WLLZ the show would often run past 11pm, and just end whenever they felt like ending it. I think WJR eventually moved it to Monday evenings, before it faded away.

I am thinking costa moves into this position

It won't be Valienti or a weekend/floater like Caputo. My bet right now would be Karsh.

Ron Cameron doing a fast paced morning show. Oh the horror!
It's gonna be Costa. They've been building him up quite a bit. No way they mess with the afternoon show and I think they leave middays alone too. Costa is the right one for it.

Of course 3G is lobbying for him; they used to work together at 96.1 in Grand Rapids.
I’d prefer Costa too, in spite of the 3G support.
