Drew Lane builds podcast mini-empire in basement
Re: Drew Lane builds podcast mini-empire in basement
Good for him, he's a talented guy. Hopefully he can find a better partner than lame-o Mark.

Daypart is obviously on or connected to the show somehow.

Exactly.
Maybe he is Drew himself

Your speculation is hilarious. Fodder.

Sorry but I never understood the appeal of this guy. He is terrible.

Who? Are you referring to Drew? The Ron Burgundy of Detroit Radioiloveblackpeople wrote: ↑Sat Jun 01, 2019 1:14 pmSorry but I never understood the appeal of this guy. He is terrible.

Most if not all people in local media are aware of this site. With Drew speaking of it numerous times on the show and getting worked up over the threads, I believe that at least one of them posts on here. Members of the show or friends of Drew may not even admit to each other they do, but Im sure of it. My guess is Daypart is one of them. He/she venomously defends Drew and the show.
Re: Drew Lane builds podcast mini-empire in basement
And if Daypart is involved with the pudcast He's a poor representation of Drew's program, in all honesty Drew is a great person and is a good Detroit personality, but some people including myself just don't dig the pudcast it's just opinion and some on the buzzboard like it and others don't. And on the other hand Daypart could be living in his parents basement and mom and dad don't know he's on the internet.

Drew is a nice guy. Everyone involved with the network is...except for Denny...he's an ass.

I gotta agree, to a certain extent. I don't know everyone involved now, but during my tenure at Greater Media, all those guys were cool as could be. Guys like Drew and Mike, they didn't even have to look in my direction, let alone acknowledge some piss-ant part time jock/board-op. But they always said hey or hi or how's it going. Same with Marc and Mike. Even just small talk getting coffee.
Working with them in 2005 at a Michigan game in Ann Arbor, as an intern, was a great day. Finally getting to hang with THE Drew and Mike. That's a career highlight to me.
I'm sure most of the people here think Drew and Mike and the show's crew just waltzed in at 5:55am, shot the shit for a few hours, and went home. Those dudes always had something going on. A lot of work went into that show, just like I'm sure the current show does, too.
I still remember (and I'm not sure how, God knows how many Vicodins were running through me at the time) of Drew hustling it into the WRIF wing after 4am, giant cup of coffee in one hand, stack of newspapers in the other. They worked hard for it and earned it.
And no, I'm not Drew or affiliated with the show. I just respect people with a strong work ethic.
