Is Hally Vogel pregnant?

Post by riggs » Sun Apr 15, 2018 11:19 pm

I was wondering - Is Channel 7 weatherlady Hally Vogel pregnant and if she is will Channel 7 fire her the day after she has her baby too?

Class act over there. Better newscasts on the weekend because Isom isn't yelling at me.

There's something else I've notice about Channel 7 newscast. It's Andrea Isom's "Visits" to restaurant's that have low marks given to them by the Health Department. I don't know if this some kind of public service or the media picking on a local business, (I'm leaning towards the later but then again who wants food poisoning.)

(Sorry if this comes of as a kind of a hijack. Next time I see Halley Vogel on the news I'll try notice if she is "In The Family Way" or not.)

That settles it. We need a urine sample.

I was just wondering since they recently fired Denise Isaacs the day after she had a baby. Class move.

She’s always looked that way. It’s the angles and lighting.

He put it in quotes which clearly means it was tongue in cheek. I'm not sure how you could have seen it otherwise.

Maybe, armchairpd, but I haven't heard "the family way" to describe pregnancy since I was a boy in the 60's,when it was used by my grandparents who were born in the 1890's.

riggs, broadcast media, like most big businesses, are run by scumbags who care only about the bottom line.

I'm puzzled by the intense focus on a simple term regarding pregnancy here, and the attempt to pillory someone who used an apparently socially-unacceptable term.

The use was obviously creative and intended to be entertaining. Are we essentially a bunch of elementary school kids who must tease each other for "not being cool" or using the "wrong" term?

I referred to my wife here once as my bride, which is a term I use a lot, and some prepubescents carried on for half a dozen message cycles over it.

In that case, maybe we should bring back "the cat's meow" or "twenty-three skidoo" or "hubba hubba" if we want to be the ultimate in 1920's cool.In twenty months,it will be Jan.1,2020,so we can start a centennial anniversary revival of Roaring Twenties lingo.

Years ago I learned never to guess if a woman was "with child" you could be wrong and she might be having too much pasta at the dinner table. Better to not say anything and keep the guessing to yourself.

On a relatively early episode of the Simpsons Bart uses the phrase Hubba Hubba during an attempt for he and Homer to be nice to Lisa and Marge, (this would have been around circa 1995.) Then again Bart has always used outdated slang, (like when he talks in Dickensien Cockney English, "Shine your boots govenah" for example.)

I honestly don't know how "Cowboy in Windsor" became a topic here,but....I remember in the late 70's,there was an anchor named Betty Carrier on WDIV (it had just been re-named from WWJ-TV) who was pregnant and returned after about a year.Today, she'd likely be fired with some transparently phony excuse given about her ouster.Ah yes, television in 2018.

Why do you say that? Sandra Ali comes to mind because my wife loves WDIV but she didn't get fired.
