WCDY is running Christmas music.

You pulled WGPR over WCCW

I was surprised that I got WCCW at all in Mt. Pleasant considering how bad its signal is in Manistee and Ludington. However, my biggest surprises were getting WGLQ with no sign of WXYT and getting both WQLQ and WYCD with 100kW WUGN next door

Yeah, CCW's signal mostly goes to the north over the water. Aside from when strong conditions from Northern Michigan come in down here in Fremont, it's all Chicago and Detroit here and Green Bay is very common too. Traverse City is comparatively rare on the frequency.

It only takes 1+ dB to capture, easily turned around with a DA. You can build one, put it on a tripod out in the open, and get 2, 3, 4, or maybe more cochannels or first adjacents to locals on each channel regularly or all the time.

Small 5 Element Home Brew FM Antenna.

Stock or Modified FM-6.

Remember that the patterns shown are not in field ratio, but in dB scale, so they look less directional than they are.

WCCW is the easiest of the Traverse City frequencies (besides captain obvious WLDR) to get around during WI tropo (I've even managed to get the 107.5 in Neillsville (WCCN) once around WDUZ, which can blast in at times)

WCCN is very common down here in any western tropo opening, including at the beach along with 90.3. All the big La Crosse ones on the tower on the Minnesota side. I'd often get that one over Traverse City any day.

Arthur, if only I knew anything about anything about what you're saying, I'd give you more of a reply... but I study tropospheric ducts as opposed to... (I don't even know the subject for this :razz - radio engineering, perhaps?)
