The latest elimination at Cumulus is from their Monroe Station where the PD, Chris Reynolds (Steed) has left to pursue "other interests." He is replaced by Dan McClintock, who will program XKR, Tower and the soon to be 100.7 translator aired The Zone. Any board op who may have included WTOD's duties in their job discription, will also be out of that portion of their job as Cumulus has swapped WTOD to a christian broadcaster in exchange for the above mentioned translator.

And the beat goes on. Cumulus, citing cutbacks, has apparently run out of low and mid-level employes to toss under the bus. The Vice President of Urban Programming has been given the boot. Jim Kennedy has prior programming experience in Atlanta and Nashville.

$5 says the Dickey boys still give themselves a big bonus again though - that's what really makes me sick - it should be a shared pain when you have all the layoffs - but those "with the money make the rules".

No suprise there. The brothers even rent their own property to their stations, collecting extra bucks in any way they can. Nothing wrong with it, but, if they waived the rent they could avoid sending a lot of employes packing.

No layoffs yet. Former morning producer Meghan Smith was promoted to a front office job.

Haven't heard of any layoffs lately....Could it be that there are no more people to throw under the bus?

Layoffs have been replaced with cost cutting methods, including trimming hours and pay. Employes are backed into a corner and have to deal with it or be let go.

Couldn't help but notice the Blade story of Saturday, August, 14th, which blows the foreclosure whistle on noted talker Brian Wilson, who for some reason is permitted to live in Va. and pretend to be in Toledo. It seems his home in Toledo is up for sheriff's sale. He claims to have moved out of Toledo for health reasons when apparently he was just running away from creditors. Perhaps its time CC Toledo pulled the plug on this guy.

Here we go again. Cumulus has canned everybody and went silent in Louisville. Apparently time for another bonus for the boys.
