Canon Printer Question

Post by Turkeytop » Tue Jan 16, 2018 9:10 pm

Had to replace my printer today. Got a cheap Canon ink jet model. I don't know how to scan. I've had printers before with a scan button right on the machine. With my last printer, an HP I could right click on the printer icon and select the scan option, This one, I don't have a clue. Can anyone help? Otherwise I might just return it to the store

Try the owner's manual.

Try the owner's manual.

The owners manual is a single sheet of paper with a few crude drawings for assembly instructions.

I returned the printer today to WalMart.

When I get back home next spring I'll get another HP to bring down here.

I have a nice Cannon printer 600 series, it has fax and scan but I never hooked it to a phone line and one time I scanned a document , but the file disappeared into my computer's memory's darkest corner, never to be seen again.
Print's color images and b/w documents like a CHAMP !

Canon is a good brand. I've always favoured Canon cameras. I'm sure this was a good printer too, if only I knew how to use it.

I was able to print and to copy, but I just couldn't figure out scanning.

Took the Canon back last week. Today I bought an HP and it works. Cost about $60 at WalMart. Probably could have got it cheaper at home but I needed it now.
