NBC Saturday Night Hockey

I have a question about NBC's Saturday night playoff hockey programing. Tonight's Columbus Blue Jackets Boston Bruins game went into double overtime, (Columbus won 3 to 2) pushing well into tonight's SNL rerun. Would they do the same thing if it was a live episode? Would NBC keep SNL waiting or they move the game to another channel? Somewhere the specter of 1968's Heidi Bowl is glowing.

Seems like most Saturday nights when NBC has NHL playoffs on the main network, (not NBCSN,) SNL is a rerun. In the regular season it's not as big of an issue, because the overtime rules in the NHL are different in the regular season from playoff rules. Looking ahead to this Saturday May 4, NBC has playoff hockey starting at 7:30 PM eastern time and again, SNL is a rerun.

Actually SNL is new this week with Adam Sandler and Shawn Mendes.

OOPS. You're right. I misread the SNL listed immediately following the game at 10:00.
