TV That Should Be ON DVD But It's NOT

Post by TheForce » Fri Dec 22, 2017 8:15 pm

I know putting TV shows on DVD can be quite costly and even cost prohibitive but I think the following shows deserve to see the light of day on DVD or even finished after only putting out a season or two.

1. Head of the Class (1986)

2. Step By Step (1991)

3. Blossom (1990) - Only the first 2 seasons are on DVD

4. Empty Nest (1988)

5. Perfect Strangers (1986) - Only the first 2 seasons are on DVD

6. The Hogan Family (1986)

7. Silver Spoons (1982) - Only the first season on DVD

8. Benson (1979) - Only the first 2 seasons are on DVD

9. Who's The Boss (1984) - Only the first season on DVD

There are more but I feel these need to come out and have the others finish the sets.

Here's my additions to this list: Happy Days from season 7 onward and The Drew Carey Show from season 2 onward.

For three days in January 2017 (15th, 16th, 19th) and one night in September 2017 (22nd), I managed to receive KDKA Pittsburgh from 202 miles away indoors!

I grew up in the 80's too. To me a lot of those shows just don't make any sense anymore. Sometimes things work better as a memory, (it's kind of hard to explain.)

I get you.

I REALLY liked The Wonder Years...."Kevin" was the same age in a given year in the show as I was in real life, so a lot of it made sense.

However, now when I watch it, some of the downsides of growing up seem all too real and memorable. Some of it is great, but a few places are like watching a video of one of your teeth being pulled.

The box that many broadcasters won’t look outside of was made in 1969 and hasn’t changed significantly since.

Aside from the small handful of programs I like today, most are just crap. 80's and 90's television was the best for me. Shows actually had fun and memorable theme songs, they weren't all smutty and gay. Honestly I can't see what people see in that RuPaul thing... blek!

About a year ago, I began buying complete series on dvd of some the good comedy shows over the years. I already had Seinfeld and Everybody Loves Raymond, but I bought Frasier last year. Since then, I've bought Wings, Becker, That 70's Show, King Of Queens, and Coach. Thinking of getting Cheers in the future and Newsradio. Would like to get Night Court and Newhart if they ever bring out the complete series of them. And I've had the first three seasons of Barney Miller, Taxi, and Sanford & Son for a number of years.
